Hurghada's home reefs are coral gardens. For wrecks you head north, and Abu Nuhas is the place: a reef near the Strait of Gubal where ships have been running aground since the nineteenth century, which is why it is known as the Red Sea's ship graveyard. Its best-known wrecks are the Carnatic, a nineteenth-century steamship, and the Giannis D, Chrisoula K and Kimon M, three cargo ships of the twentieth century. If you are staying in Hurghada and want one wreck day in your diving week, this is the one to choose. The boat leaves from El Gouna, so the day begins with a drive north. We collect you from your hotel in Hurghada, take you to our boat at Three Corners Sunny Beach, and bring you back after the second dive.A trip like this needs preparation, so booking a place does not fix the day. After you book, we agree the date with you and confirm it on WhatsApp before the trip. You make two boat dives, and your dive team chooses which of the wrecks we dive according to the conditions and your group. The wrecks ask more of you than a reef dive, which is why the trip is open to divers with PADI Advanced Open Water, CMAS 2-Star or an equivalent certification. Tell us the date of your last dive when you book so we can plan the day around you. If it has been a while, we plan an easier reef dive with you first. The price covers everything: full diving equipment, tank and weights, the transfer from your hotel, lunch on board, and water, soft drinks and hot drinks all day. Nitrox, a dive computer and photo or video by our photographers cost extra.Companions who don't dive can ride along. They stay on deck, and where there is a suitable spot for snorkelling they snorkel as usual; their places are booked separately. We go through the details and the pick-up time with you on WhatsApp.
